The non-profit making association "Documentation and Memorial Site Sandbostel" was founded at Selsingen on January 16th, 1992. It's main objects are the consolidation ot the POW and KZ-Overflow Camp Sandbostel's history and the installation of a Memorial Site on the historic camp ground. Prominent events in the Association's history were in 1994 the opening of the travelling exhibition "The POW Camp Sandbostel", which was shown for three years on many places in Northern Germany, in 1995 the Remembrance Rally because of the 50th anniversary of the Camp's liberation and in 1998 the opening of the Memorial Site (Bureau, Archive, Exhibition- and Lecture Room) at Großer Platz 4 in Bremervoerde. Since 2007 we have a bureau on the Camp site in Sandbostel. Our new adress is Greftstr. 5 in 27446 Sandbostel. Chairman since the Association's foundation is Dr. Dietmar Kohlrausch, Rotenburg. The Teacher Burkhard Rexin has been given the task by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs to guide visitors through the Camp site and the Cemetary at Sandbostel and also is in charge of the Documentation Site.
